Research Assistant II (RAII) Position – Skin Carcinogenesis and Photoprotection

Summary

Premi Lab is leading cutting-edge research into the complex interplay between metabolic enzymes, pigmentary systems, and redox pathways in skin carcinogenesis. Our current projects focus on investigating novel plant-based compounds to counteract the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation, including direct and indirect DNA damage, redox stress, and enhanced photoprotection.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team in this exciting RAII position. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hands-on experience with core cellular and molecular biology techniques, including:
•    Mammalian cell culture (experience with both primary cells and cell lines is preferred)
•    DNA/RNA analysis, including DNA processing, DNA damage, and repair analysis.
•    Immunodetection methods, such as Western blotting, ELISA, and immunohistochemistry (IHC).
•    Fluorescence and brightfield microscopy, along with imaging and image analysis using ImageJ or other relevant platforms.
•    Data analysis using GraphPad Prism or similar software.

Position Highlights: 
•    The Research Associate II assumes the responsibility of performing basic, biological, behavioral, social science or public health research within the specified research program.
•    The Research Associate has responsibility to the faculty of the specified program. 

Ideal Candidate:
•    Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. 
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and communicate clearly, verbally and in writing. 

Responsibilities: 
•    Maintains laboratory equipment in a clean and working order, including coordinating instrument standardization documented by written report.
•    Reorders stock laboratory supplies when depleted under appropriate supervision.
•    Contributes to the preparation of manuscripts, grants, administrative and research compliance documents as directed by supervisor. 
•    Technically responsible for the collection, organization and permanent documentation of data in physical and electronic formats as directed by immediate supervisor. 
•    Responsible for data analysis using standardized procedures and protocols and under minimal supervision. 

Credentials and Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field. Master’s Degree in relevant field is preferred 
•    Hands-on research experience is required
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
