**UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Research Assistant Clinical Research to support the OSPU (Obstetric Specimen Processing Unit) at UPMC Hamot!**
The Magee-Womens Research Institute Erie Campus is a satellite campus to the Magee Womens Research Institute. Our site hosts basic clinical research and clinical trials focused on improving women’s health. The Erie campus through its partnership with Penn State Behrend has brought new protocols to the Erie community. Additionally, the Erie campus hosts protocols that have been initiated in Pittsburgh. The research team has a presence in the outpatient UPP OBGYN offices and the labor and delivery unit within UPMC Hamot, Magee Womens Hospital. **This position will work an evening shift. Travel is required to satellite offices less than 5% of the time.** _Hours are subject to change based on business needs._
Under Faculty or Research Associate supervision, the Clinical Research Assistant accurately performs research projects according to established study design and procedures.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Maintain laboratory inventory, including timely ordering and receipt of required supplies and their proper storage.
+ Follow appropriate research policies and procedures including all applicable laws and regulations and maintains scientific integrity including accurate data storage.
+ Administer questionnaires and assists with procedures for obtaining patient screening and recruitment as well as obtaining research specimens.
+ Prepare, label, store and disposes of reagents, and calibrates equipment for research projects.
+ Assist in obtaining educational resources necessary to perform and interpret research and to remain abreast in research area of function.
+ Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology or other basic science or Bachelor of Arts degree in a science or health related field with a minimum of 15 credit hours in related science courses required.
+ Excellent communication skills and an ability to work with a diverse group of individuals preferred.
