POSITION SUMMARY:

Beacon Hill Life Sciences is seeking a Research Associate for a fantastic company in the greater Queens, NY area. This is a 6-month Contract to Hire position and an opportunity to work with, and learn from, multidisciplinary teams in a small, fast-paced biotechnology company.

The selected individual will work alongside other R&D scientists and will help drive drug discovery and development efforts by designing and conducting experiments. The successful candidate will work effectively in a team-oriented environment to deliver robust data on a timeline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the development and implementation of novel research tools and assays utilizing standard molecular biology and biochemical lab techniques.Perform experiments leveraging phage display technology to discover and develop therapeutic antibodies.Assist with operational tasks in and out of the lab.Communicate experimental plans and results to the leadership team.Meticulous electronic lab notebook documentation.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

BS in biochemistry, microbiology, biology, bioengineering, immunology, or related field.1-2 years of industry experience in a biotech/pharma company or full-time academic lab experience.Expertise with E. coli culture and transformation, as well as protein expression and purification are preferred.Knowledge and experience with standard molecular biology and biochemical lab techniques such as DNA and protein handling, including gel electrophoresis, western blotting, and ELISA.Proficiency with standard statistical analyses and data plotting (e.g., Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism).Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share scientific findings.Passion for working at the bench to advance programs and solve technical challenges.Self-motivation and adaptability to evolving project priorities and responsibilities.Team-oriented, with a strong work ethic.
