Research Associate 1 Position in Tumor Metabolism. The laboratory of Dr. Kiran Kurmi in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a Research Associate 1 to join our new research team. Our lab focuses on understanding how metabolism adapts in proliferative cells, such as cancer cells and activated T cells.
Contribute to innovative research utilizing advanced molecular and chemical biology techniques, including molecular cloning, PCR, Western blotting, protein purification, enzyme kinetics, flow cytometry, metabolite extraction, LC-MS analysis, mouse studies, and mitochondrial biology.
Understand and interpret research protocols and ensure all research is conducted according to good research practices.
Participate in the publication of significant research findings.
Stay current with relevant publications, methods, techniques, and advancements in the field.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
Conduct calculations, collect data, and perform statistical analysis of laboratory results.
Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures, ensuring the safeguarding of university assets.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a biomedical field.
No prior experience required.
