The Public Health Sciences Department at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate 1.

SUMMARY

The Research Associate 1, SOM (N) supports research activities for the assigned division by conducting laboratory experiments on assigned research projects. Moreover, the incumbent operates with the goal of advancing his/her expertise through continued education, training, and research.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions:

Recruit subjects from UM/Jackson clinics and those who participate in MDC’s Weatherization Assistance Program.

Conducts home monitoring, systematically log, and collect environmental exposure data.

Assists with cleaning and analyzing these data; implement low-cost home intervention.

Track subject’s health symptoms over three months.

Conduct literature review and assist with writing and interpreting results.

Department Specific Qualifications:                                                                                            

Education:

MPH degree in Public Health Sciences with interest in home-interventions to improve indoor environment preferred.

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
