The Research Associate will conduct sedimentologic analyses. He/she will describe cores and bottom sediments, prepare petrographic thin sections, photograph samples and thin sections, conduct grain size analysis, and assist with other associated laboratory analyses. He/she will also assist with preparation of figures, reports, and presentations. Familiarity with wet thin section preparation, a specialized technique where samples collected in formalin are not allowed to dry out before impregnation in epoxy, is critical.
A Bachelors Degree in a relevant field is required.
