Recruitment/Posting Title Research Associate Department Engn-Materials Science & Engn Salary Annual Salary Posting Summary A Research Associate position is available immediately. The goal of the program is to develop an understanding of role processing method on the properties and microstructure of ultrahigh temperature ceramics. The program will deal with carrying out thorough powder characterization of materials using analytical techniques such as scanning electron microscopy/EDS analyses, particle size analyses, BET surface analyses and X-ray diffraction. Materials will be processed with a combination of borothermal, carbothermal and arc melting methods. The candidate will be responsible for conducting research as well as overseeing the processing laboratories. The successful candidate should have a strong background in characterization and processing of high temperature materials. A thorough understanding of scanning electron microscopy and preparation methods is essential. Previous experience with all methods is required. Strong writing and presentation skills are required.
