Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our Gene Therapy group. This entry-level position is crucial to our gene therapy drug development efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience with RNAscope and BaseScope staining, as well as a familiarity with imaging chromogenic and fluorescence multiplex slides. You will work with multiple tissue preparations and types, including mouse and human tissues, and perform various molecular biology techniques. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills are essential for this role.
ResponsibilitiesPerform chromogenic and fluorescence RNAscope and/or BaseScope staining.Image chromogenic slides and fluorescence multiplex slides.Work with multiple tissue preparations, including FFPE, fixed-frozen, and fresh-frozen tissues.Handle multiple tissue types, including mouse and human tissues.Conduct immunohistochemistry (IHC) and antibody staining.Perform ddPCR, qPCR, Olink-based proteomics, MSD, protein isolation, and Western blot.Maintain accurate records and organize data efficiently.Participate in vivarium operations, including animal care, surgery, and anesthesia for mice.Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.Work independently with minimal supervision.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Biological Sciences (e.g., Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Physiology, Neuroscience, or related field).0-2 years of relevant postgraduate research experience in an industry setting.Knowledge of chromogenic and fluorescence RNAscope and/or BaseScope staining.Familiarity with imaging chromogenic and fluorescence multiplex slides.Experience with multiple tissue preparations and types.Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.Proficiency in immunohistochemistry (IHC), ddPCR, qPCR, Olink-based proteomics, MSD, protein isolation, and Western blot.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsCreativity and the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.Flexible schedule including working on weekends.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Work Environment
This is an on-site position, Monday through Friday, within a fast-paced, start-up environment. The role involves working as part of the vivarium operations team, requiring adaptability and high performance. The candidate should be passionate about working with animals and excel at organization. A flexible work schedule, including weekends, may be required. The work environment is clean, safe, and compliant with relevant regulations.
