Job Summary\:
The Research Associate will be responsible for the smooth operation of the VIDAR Lab hardware and software stacks, including GPU clusters and related computing resources. This position will also play a key role in designing and implementing new features for research projects. The successful candidate will also lead the onboarding of new students and guide them in best practices for using lab computing resources. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience\:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related) and at least 3 years of technical support experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities\:
Strong proficiency in Linux (e.g., Ubuntu) environment administration. Experience with HPC job schedulers (e.g., Slurm) and cluster management tools. Familiarity with container technologies (e.g., Singularity) a plus. Knowledge of common deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch). Experience with Flask-based APIs and frontend development (React, Vue, or Angular) is highly desirable. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and version control best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Preferred\:
