The Concepts and Cognition Laboratory (PI\: Jamie Reilly, Ph.D.) is seeking a full-time research associate to assist with an ongoing longitudinal study of language in people who are at high risk for dementia. This study is funded by the National Institutes on Deafness and Other Communicative Disorders (NIH/NIDCD). The coordinator will assist with numerous aspects of the research, including but not limited to\: 1) patient recruitment; 2) regulatory compliance (IRB); 3) neuropsychological testing and data acquisition (eyetracking and EEG); 4) developing computational pipelines for data analysis; 5) analyzing data; 6) preparing manuscripts for publication; 7) managing activities of undergraduate research assistant volunteers; 8) database management.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter describing their research experience and training as it relates to the proposed position.
Essential functions\:
•Developing R scripts for processing EEG data (e.g., bandpass filtering, independent component analysis, grand mean averaging)
•Troubleshooting EEG acquisition errors and equipment syncing between computers
•Scheduling participants, assisting with recruiting, coordinating participant payments.
•Ensuring compliance with IRB, NIH and other regulatory agencies.
•Analyzing eyetracking data (Experiment Builder) and programming eyetracking experiments using synchronized scripts with EEG
•Database administration (RedCap)
•Coordinating staffing (e.g., research assistants) and ensuring that we have adequate coverage for neuropsychological testing.
•Compiling and analyzing data
•Preparing manuscripts in collaboration with the PI
•Other tasks that arise
Performs other duties as assigned.
The Concepts and Cognition Laboratory is a dynamic and fast paced environment involving many ongoing studies. Our members cross numerous disciplines (e.g., linguistics, neuroscience, computer science). The coordinator will have numerous opportunities to publish peer-reviewed research, to work closely with other scientists, and to cultivate her/his/their own interests in language neuroscience.

Required Education & Experience\:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field (especially Human Neuroscience, Linguistics, or Psychology) and at least 1 year of research experience. An MA is preferred. Knowledge and experience with eyetracking, EEG, and psycholinguistic methods is a must.

*Experience conducting human subjects research, especially speech or language treatment research.
*Knowledge of linguistic and psycholinguistic theories.
*Research experience in a related field (Communication Sciences and Disorders, psycholinguistics, linguistics, neuropsychology).

This is a grant funded position.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
