Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Associate.

The Center for Bio specimen Research and Development is a centralized infrastructure launched in 2015 to provide support to the clinical research community with the acquisition processing storage and distribution of biospecimens tissue biofluids for clinical trials and biomedical research projects. The Biorepository works closely under the general direction of the Lab Director with Lab Management Sample Management Inventory and documenting clinical data in the LIMS database. The Research Study Associate will report to the Associate Director of the Center for Bio specimen Research and Development CBRD. This candidate will work closely with other staff members to provide exceptional service to clients. The successful candidate will assist in day to day operations of biospecimens collection processing and data entry for clinical trials and research studies.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for biospecimens collection processing storage and distribution for clinical trials biobanks and research studies Responsible for answering queries related to sample rsquo;s processing and distribution Responsible for specimen rsquo;s inventory and QC prior distribution Responsible for kits set up and inventory for clinical trials bio banks and research studies Responsible for specimen rsquo;s data entry in database LabVantage/FileMaker Pro Responsible for filling out scanning and storing in the server the requisition forms for sample shipments Responsible for reagents and lab supplies inventory Responsible for weekly meeting minutes Maintains a clean orderly work area within the laboratory Adhere to department policies and procedures; must follow HIPPA and CAP Accreditation rules Perform other duties as assigned

Recognizes core laboratory functions Judgment/Decision Making Is able to recognize problems as they occur; and through the application of appropriate policy/procedure determine and/or recommends the appropriate solution.

Seeks guidance as necessary for the performance of duties asks appropriate questions when in doubt and utilizes reference sources/materials to endure accuracy

Advises appropriate personnel of situations/problems requiring intervention or follow up attention.

Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify you must have a College graduate with a B S or B A in Biomedical or Physical Sciences A minimum commitment of two years is required and placement in position may not exceed three years

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $47,033.89 - $50,960.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
