Requirements
The Department of Global Health, School of Health, Georgetown University has an opportunity for a Research Associate. The position is created primarily to support the implementation of multiple projects funded by different organizations in the field of global health. The Research Associate will work closely with faculty members and senior staff who engage in the projects to conduct research and evaluation projects related to global health, health system, and health economics. This position is responsible for conducting analyses and research activities to promote a culture of assessment and evidence-based decision-making. Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct literature review to inform study design and implementation.
Collect financial, costing, or other types of data from the field, traveling in the country and out of the country when expected.
Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Write reports, proposals, and other documents as needed.
Support faculty members and other research staff in research and teaching, as well as related logistics
Work independently and exercise professional judgment and initiative, being accountable for the delivery and reliability of their work.
Work Interactions
the Department of Global Health has actively adapted itself to deeply engage in global health research and practice. Faculty at the Department of Global Health has also obtained funding from various agencies. The Research Associate will primarily work with and report to Dr. Wu Zeng, Associate Professor at the Department of Global Health, to implement funded project in the department and the Initiative for Health Economics, Financing, and Outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Master’s degree in global health, health economics, public health, public policy, data science, or in a field of study related to the research
Knowledge of the design of research studies and preparation of technical reports
Ability to understand and utilize scientific terminology and research theory in both verbal and written communications
Ability to provide theoretical, conceptual, and writing support on research analysis and findings
Skill in statistical programming, interpretation and data analysis using statistical software, as well as spreadsheet and database software applications
Ability to work as part of a team
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Knowledge of costing health services Knowledge of cancer treatment and service delivery preferred

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$41,926.00 - $65,090.00Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
