Research Associate/Grant Writer Rochester, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=265+N.+Clinton+Ave.+Rochester+NY+USA+14605) Description Schedule:Full-Time Reports To: V.P. of Program Planning, Research, & Evaluation FLSA Status:Non-Exempt Job Summary Provide grant writing, technical assistance, and evaluation services to ULR programs Job Functions + Assist in seeking new and innovative public and private funding at the local, state, and national level. + Conduct program evaluations and prepare analysis for funders to ascertain program effectiveness. + Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Program Planning, Research and Evaluation Department. + Review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for specific programs, as assigned. + Develop instruments for pre- and post-test assessments of key program outcomes to determine program effectiveness and impact on participants. + Assist Program Coordinators and Directors with technical assistance as needed to ensure programs are in compliance with funder’s goals and objectives. + Periodically review program files and data for specific programs, as assigned, to determine compliance with program requirements. + Assist in preparation of agency position statements on issues of importance to the community. + Attend Urban League of Rochester functions and events. + Perform other duties as may be assigned by the V.P. of Program Planning, Research and Evaluation. Requirements + Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with a background in research, planning, evaluation, grant development, or related analytical work. Experience in Compliance, Small Business Development, Housing, Workforce Development, or Youth Development a plus. + Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research to meet deadlines. + Excellent written and oral communications skills. + Capacity to manage multiple projects and assignments, often with competing deadlines. + Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines. + Knowledge of social science research techniques, preferably with experience in program evaluation. + Knowledge of the dynamics of race and class within the political economy of contemporary urban America. + Competency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, and Excel. + Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
