HD Biosciences, Inc. (San Diego), a WuXi AppTec Company, is expanding its Discovery Biomarkers team. We’re seeking a highly motivated Research Associate I to support our in vitro/ex vivo immunology team for various projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining multiple primary cultures and cell lines.
• Isolation and purification of immune cell populations from human or mouse blood and tissue.
• Run ligand-binding assays including ELISA and MSD.
• Perform protein detection assays such as Western Blot.
• Day-to-day coordination of laboratory reagents and maintenance of key equipment.
● Work as a member of an integrated project team in a highly collaborative work environment.
● Document all scientific work in lab notebooks; follow established HD Biosciences standard operating procedures on data documentation and notebooks.
● Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
● Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
● Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.
● Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required.
● Maybe required to work on Holidays and weekends.
● Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
● Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
● Other duties as assigned.
● May be required to assist in other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Life Sciences or related field preferred with 0-1 year of experience.
• Experience in Biology Lab/ bench work experience preferred; e.g. sterile cell culture techniques, and in vitro/ex vivo immune cell-based assays in academic or industry laboratory environment.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills; able to work in a team-oriented environment. Effectively collaborate across cross functional teams
• Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
• Demonstrate a high level of initiative in troubleshooting experiments and performing data analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

 

Anticipated salary range: $18.05 to $23.34
