Research Associate I - Radiotherapy Physics and Imaging

Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.

The Radiation Oncology Department at City of Hope has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Associate with a lot of exposure to clinical practice of radiotherapy physics. The Radiation Oncology Department at COH is the largest Radiation Oncology enterprise in the southern California with more than 25 Linear Accelerators (Linacs) including special designed machines such as MR-guided Linac and PET-guided linac, Varian Ethos with adaptive radiotherapy capabilities. Different imaging simulators are also available within the department including CT, PET/CT and MRI. Research is highly active here.

Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, or designee, the Research Associate I performs a variety of routine and increasingly complex research experiments.

As a successful candidate, you will:

Develop novel magnetic resonance imaging technique. Develop new medical image post-processing techniques using conventional and deep learning-based approaches.Coordinate research imaging studies to promote applications of MRI in the application of radiotherapy.Troubleshoot procedures if experiment results are unexpected or unsatisfactory. Recommend alternative procedures. Independently evaluate research data and initiate alternative approaches to improve the quality of results by providing input to overall research design.Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts by describing methods and specialized techniques, presenting collected results.
