Research Associate II - Integrative Translational Sciences

The Department of Integrative Translational Sciences is seeking a Research Associate II to join Dr. David Craig’s laboratory. Our team is dedicated to translating our findings into novel therapeutic strategies to improve patient outcomes, by focusing on focuses on cutting-edge research aimed at understanding molecular mechanisms in health and disease. As a successful candidate, you will:

Conduct a range of molecular biology experiments, focusing on techniques such as cell culture, biochemical assays, and DNA damage detection.Execute and analyze single-cell, spatial, and NGS workflows, emphasizing library construction and sequencing from cells and primary tissues.Develop and optimize cutting-edge single cell-based genomics technologies.Participate in long-read sequencing and associated data analysis.Perform histological preparations, with a focus on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

·       Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or in a related field, along with 2 years of experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 1 year of experience is acceptable.

·       Hands-on experience in standard molecular biology techniques, with emphasis on cellular biology.

·       Experience with emerging genomic methods, including single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, and long-read sequencing methodologies.

·       Strong skills in histology and tissue preparation, especially with FFPE samples.

·       Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high emphasis on collaboration.
