Research Associate II - Molecular Biology and Preclinical Mouse Models

Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Research Associate II to join Dr. Kirstin Zettlitz's laboratory in the Department of Immunology and Theranostics, Art Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute. The lab focuses on antibody-based theranostics, specifically optical and immunoPET imaging, to enhance the development and clinical translation of targeted therapies such as radioimmunotherapy.

You will be encouraged to lead an individual research project and conduct various routine and increasingly complex research experiments.  Your primary duties will revolve around basic laboratory techniques in molecular biology, including the production, purification, and characterization of antibody fragments.  You will also support work with preclinical mouse models, including handling of mice, tumor implantation through various routes, survival surgeries (e.g., surgical castration, tumor resection), preclinical imaging studies (tracer injections, PET/CT scans), and necropsy of mice.  Additionally, you will collect, analyze, and present data internally, maintain thorough records and documentation of experiments, and contribute to protocol development.
