Job Title: Research Associate III

Job Description

Reporting to the Research & Development Lead, the Research Associate will play a critical role in developing tissue-engineering medical devices. This position involves extensive work in cell culture, molecular biology, bioreactor optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovative research initiatives. We are seeking a highly motivated Bachelor's or Master's level tissue engineer, cell biologist, or molecular biologist with a passion for advancing medical technology. ResponsibilitiesCharacterize biomaterial properties and scaffold interactions.Assist in biocompatibility and mechanical testing.Perform brightfield and fluorescence microscopy.Cell culture and cell line development.Perform gene and protein expression analyses (RT-PCR, ELISA, Western blot).Contribute to research and development efforts by identifying, suggesting, and managing laboratory supplies and equipment.Essential SkillsProficiency in molecular biology techniques (such as ELISA, Western blot, PCR, SDS-PAGE, silver staining).Experience with mammalian cell culture (adherent stem cells or suspended cells).Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).Strong organizational skills with attention to documentation and protocol adherence.Ability to operate lab equipment (microscopy, fluorometric assays, plate readers, spectrophotometry).Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Tissue Engineering, Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field (Required).Minimum of 2 years of experience in mammalian cell culture (Required).Experience in transfection and cell line development (Preferred).Minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanical testing of biomaterials/tissue constructs (Preferred).Experience in scaffold fabrication, biomaterials, tissue engineering, and image processing.Strong in tissue engineering, biomaterials, and scaffold fabrication.Experience in image processing and analysis (e.g., ImageJ, microscopy).Knowledge of cartilage and bone biology.Experience in bioreactor-based cell culture and scale-up techniques.Work Environment

Lab environment. Reports to the preclinical research manager.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
