**GENERAL DUTIES**
Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others.
- Develops research plans and proposals and participates in acquiring funding
- Collects, analyzes, and assures validity of data
- Writes progress reports; writes and publishes findings
- Collaborates with internal and external colleagues
- Adheres to standards for safety and hygiene and ethical conduct as defined by the University and relevant outside parties

**CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION**
The City College of New York (CCNY) is accepting applications for a university-funded Research Associate (“RA”) with expertise in the field of micro-/nanofabrication technology and manufacturing research. The RA will work with faculty to prepare proposals and collaborate on sponsored research projects and write scientific reports and manuscripts for presentation at national conferences. The position reports to the Chair of the Electrical Engineering Department.
The RA will also play a pivotal role in managing the critical equipment at our Micro/Nano fabrication lab and assist faculty and students with their research projects in this area. The lab occupies approximately 800 sq ft of space, with facilities dedicated to supporting Micro/nano device fabrication and characterizations. This is in a class 1000/10,000 level under HEPA filtered work areas.
The Micro/nano fabrication lab supports various material and device applications. The previous and current users include students and faculty from several departments at CCNY and other CUNY campuses. Examples of the equipment the RA will be responsible for managing include:
1. CHA e-beam Evaporator
2. Edward Auto 360 Thermal Evaporator
3. Denton Explorer 14 Sputter
4. Cressington 108A Carbon Coater
5. Karl Suss MJB 3 Mask Aligner
6. Solitec 5100 Spinner
CUNY's research community includes several hundred chemists, biologists, physicists, medical researchers, and both chemical and biomedical engineers who interact within a university network of 25 colleges and professional schools. The City College of New York is located in the historic Hamilton Heights - Sugar Hill section of upper Manhattan, and is accessible by major subway and bus lines within the metropolitan New York area.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Research experience in the micro/nano fabrication area and familiarity with related equipment.
**COMPENSATION**
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000
