Job Title: Research Associate (Precision Genomics)
Job Description

This position is in Precision Genomics’ St. Louis Production Genotyping lab. You will work collaboratively with a large production team of full-time employees and contractors to achieve daily and weekly genotyping targets under tight deadlines. Your primary responsibility will be operating manual and automated lab processes in a sequencing library creation lab. Additional tasks may include sample preparation, sequencing, qPCR, general lab stocking, and supply upkeep.

ResponsibilitiesOperate manual and automated lab equipment for sequencing library creation.Assist in the care and maintenance of lab equipment.Help with the receipt, inspection, ordering, and stocking of raw materials.Process samples through sequencing library preparation.Prepare and stock lab consumables.Ensure the lab runs smoothly by performing various support tasks as needed.Essential SkillsMulti-tasking abilities.Experience with Biology, sample preparation, PCR, and sequencing.A Bachelor of Science degree in biology or other core lab science degrees.1-2 years of experience handling sample preparation and PCR in a lab setting.1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced environment such as a high-throughput lab or in retail/food service.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong attention to detail.High work ethic and sense of urgency.Excellent communication skills.Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus.Automation and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.Assertive and proactive personality, not afraid to speak up.Work Environment

You will work alongside 3-4 full-time employees and several contract employees, as part of a larger team of about 45 people across multiple shifts, including nights and weekends. Approximately 40% of the team are contractors. The team dynamic is outgoing, productive, and results-oriented, with strong communication between shifts. The environment is casual but involves a high volume of work. This role is for the Monday-Friday day shift (approx. 8am-4pm) and is 100% on-site (no hybrid or work from home model). You must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
