Connell School of Nursing invites applications for a resourceful and well-organized Research Associate to work with Dr. Katelyn Sileo. The Research Associate will be involved in supporting all aspects of research examining the efficacy of the Family Health = Family Wealth (FH=FW) intervention, a community-based, multilevel intervention aimed to reduce the unmet need for family planning in central Uganda. For the FH=FW study, the Research Associate will play a vital role in supporting the PI, in addition to the Uganda-based Project Coordinator and research staff. The Research Associate will: + Manage ethics and study approvals + Assist with the development and/or refinement of intervention manuals and supportive study materials, such as training manuals, standard operating procedures, and monitoring tools + Prepare electronic data collection forms. Update forms as needed, deploy new versions on the server and document version changes + Travel to Uganda as needed to provide technical assistance to support the implementation of the study + Attend staff meetings, provide updates on status of the project, and communicate regularly with the Uganda-Based Project Coordinator + Supervise student research assistants + Oversee incoming quantitative data, perform data cleaning, identify potential problems, reconcile discrepancies, follow-up on missing data with field staff + Perform daily/weekly database maintenance and reporting + Track participants in the study (data received, intervention sessions attended) and clinic data + Assist with the receipt of qualitative transcripts from field staff, management of qualitative data, and help oversee the coding and thematic analysis process + Oversee the sharing of data in a public repository following NIH standards + Lead report writing, including reports for the IRB, DSMB, NIH, clinicaltrials.gov, and stakeholders + Analyze quantitative and qualitative data + Contribute to, co-author, or author research products, including publications and presentations + Represent the research team at external meetings, such as domestic and international conferences + Assist with other study management and dissemination tasks as needed The Research Associate may also support other ongoing and future research focused on sexual and reproductive health under Dr. Sileo's direction. The roles and responsibilities for other projects would be similar to those listed above, with the addition of grant-writing support. Please include it in the same file as your CV or resume.** **Requirements** **Requirements:** + Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, (bio)statistics, or a related field + 2-3 years experience **Preferred qualifications:** + Prior experience in project management + Demonstrated ability to conduct collaborative and methodological research + Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills in English + SAS or R programming proficiency required, mastery preferred. + Proficiency with multiple statistical programs (e.g., SPSS, Stata) + Proficiency with XLSForm/ODK Collect/Kobo Collect, RedCap + Experience with data-sharing procedures in NIH-funded studies or other data curation and standardization procedures for data sharing + Strong commitment to health equity and motivation for independent learning + Ability to conduct literature searches and produce reviews **Required application documents:** Cover letter, CV, 1 writing sample or publication.
