He/she performs and monitors daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries to the financial statements of the hospital and/or entities and ensures that all financial transactions are accurate and properly stated. The position is responsible for communicating results of their entries, providing explanations and support for booked amounts. The Research Finance Bookkeeper works on various projects, which may include reconciling assigned balance sheet classes, processing study related payments, and entering data on CTMS. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. **The value you’ll bring to the team:** • Prepare routine Journal Entries for all assigned financial classes, cost centers and entities. Process financial transactions, including, AHS transfers, miscellaneous accounts receivable, accounts payable for entities, cash posting, IDT’s, and others. • Gather and analyze financial statement information for all assigned financial classes, cost center, and entities. Ensure that all entries to the financial statements and subsidiary ledgers, from any source system, are approved and posted to the correct location. • Support the monthly close process by meeting journal entry deadlines and getting answers for questionable amounts. • Routinely reconcile assigned balance sheet classes to a lead schedule. Research any variances between the General Ledger and Subsidiaries and provide explanations for any unusual trends and report any issues to department leaders. • Communicate financial results for assigned areas, with accuracy, timeliness, and clarity to finance and operational departments. • Assist with the monitoring of expenditures and assures budgetary compliance; verifies, identifies and evaluates excessive charges. Monitor and close out aged commitments. • Assist to resolve accounting issues. • Gain basic understanding of various compliance regulations and their financial implications. • Process timely effort updates to ensure accurate depiction of effort allocation. • Process physician and practice payments for research departments (AHMG and non-AHMG) • Post stipend payments in the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) for the research departments • Accounts Receivable process – helps analysts with following up on receivables and applying payments to CTMS after checks are deposited • Perform CTMS Finance Reviews • Prepare and provide monthly Research Revenue Report • Enter payments into CTMS and process ad hoc study reconciliations • Performs other duties as assigned and provide support to the Research Finance team as needed **The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** **:** + **Minimum qualifications** : + Associates degree in Accounting and one to two years of accounting/bookeeping experience, OR + Five years of accounting/bookkeeping experience. + **Preferred qualifications:** + PeopleSoft This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
