Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Research Chemist specializing in Mass Spectrometry to join our team. The successful candidate will develop and validate analytical methods, troubleshoot problems, and communicate with clients to provide project updates. This role requires significant experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and the ability to lead and direct the work of others.

ResponsibilitiesPlan, perform, and complete more complex projectsDevelop and validate analytical methodsAssist with project cost estimatesReview analyses and documentation on completed projectsWrite technical reportsEvaluate and recommend new equipment and technologyTroubleshoot problems and perform investigations when necessaryCommunicate with clients to address questions and provide project updatesPrepare bill memosApply a wide variety of concepts, practices, procedures, and regulationsUse creativity and judgment to accomplish goalsLead and direct the work of othersPerform other duties or special projects as required or as assignedEssential SkillsExperience with and knowledge of GC/MS and LC/MSProficiency in either LCMS or GCMSDetailed interpretation of spectral dataDevelopment of mass spectrometry-based methodsExperience with sample preparation to perform analytical methods and solve analytical problemsExperience developing and performing trace level analysis for targeted and non-targeted techniquesChemical structure determination from LC/MS and GC/MS data interpretationExcellent organization, multitasking, project management, and communication skillsTeamwork ability to integrate expertise into multi-technique solutionsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, including data interpretation/analysisAbility to generate client reports and supporting documentationStrong computer skills (Windows, MS Office, data acquisition software)Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of extractable and leachable study performance is preferredTrace level method validation experience is preferredBS in Chemistry or related degree + 10 years of mass spectrometry focused work experienceMS in Chemistry or related degree + 5 years of mass spectrometry focused work experiencePhD in Chemistry or related degree with mass spectrometry focused experience
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00
