Job Description:
The Ohio University Research Compliance Coordinator 2 will assist the Office of Research Compliance in ensuring Ohio University’s compliance with various federal regulations that relate to human subject, animal subject research and conflict of interest. The individual must have current working knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to human and/or animal research to exercise independent decision-making skills.
The primary duties of this position are accepting and processing research proposals for compliance committee review. This includes determining appropriate review level based on interpretation of regulations. Conducting exempt reviews of applicable IRB submissions and making not-human-subject-research determinations and facilitating the review process between the review committees and the research community. This includes drafting correspondence and advising researchers and committee members of regulatory requirements based on knowledge and interpretation of regulations. Conducts compliance educational training sessions for faculty, staff, and students and/or compliance committee members to keep them abreast of current regulations and guidance.
NOTE : This is a part time (up to 20 hours per week) term (11 month) position.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s degree is preferred.
