The ERM Sustainability Institute (the Institute -- see the Institute website for more information) is seeking a motivated Research & Consulting Associate, who is interested in participating in a variety of research, networks, and consulting-related activity in line with the purpose of the Institute and the larger Thought Leadership team.

The Institute team also participates in the development and delivery of ERM client work.
This role will comprise approximately 80% thought leadership and 20% consulting work. This role will work as an individual contributor, reporting into the Research and Network Manager and will support stakeholders across the business. Interest in and basic understanding of the sustainability agenda and the ability to work nimbly across diverse project subject matter and project types are paramount to success in the role. Additionally, the Institute and the larger Thought Leadership team, which the Institute is part of, are small and geographically spread across Europe and North America, meaning the ability to work independently and some schedule flexibility to accommodate meetings cutting across time zones, are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct primary and secondary qualitative and quantitative research and participate in publication preparation and design as directed and as required to support the creation of thought leadership materials and collateral.Schedule and support interviews to bring client, partner, and other stakeholder perspectives into research and insights.Help author research papers, surveys, briefs, blogs, and other outputs.Occasionally support network activities including member communications, meeting planning and execution (including logistics and technology as necessary), member recruitment, and program administration.Provide consulting support to ERM clients maintaining minimum 20% UB annually.Create PowerPoint presentations and other collateral as directed to support Institute communications.Support multiple, often overlapping, projects within scope/schedule/quality expectations under supervision of Manager.REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, business, commerce, communications, political science, or other relevant discipline.One to two years of relevant experience.Experience conducting primary and secondary research.Proven track record supporting writing and production of reports, briefs, blogs or other publications.Effective written and verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.Highly competent user of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.A balance of creativity and discipline as demonstrated in past work.Proven ability to function well as a member of a team, as well as the ability to multi-task, and work independently with limited supervision
