**The Department of Oral Health Sciences (OHS) has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Coordinator to join their team.**
The Department of Oral Health Sciences (OHS) in the School of Dentistry (SOD) brings together faculty from different ends of the dental and oral health research spectrum into a single department that has expertise ranging from the modern experimental life sciences through the public health and behavioral sciences. OHS has the goal of improving the oral and general health and well-being of our diverse global population through research, teaching and service. OHS has a broadly defined mission that accommodates diverse faculty interests and expertise. At present, OHS enjoys faculty expertise in areas including anatomy, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, biostatistics, epidemiology, behavioral science (basic and applied), public health, dental hygiene, education, law, medicine, and clinical dentistry including faculty members with specialty training in periodontics, orthodontics, and oral medicine. OHS also sponsors the School of Dentistry’s only PhD program as well as the combined DDS-PhD program and the Master of Science program for Dental Hygiene. Our graduate programs provide advanced interdisciplinary training for graduate students to enable them to become academic and research leaders in the dental and craniofacial sciences, and to contribute to improved understanding of human oral and systemic health and disease. The Research Coordinator will help coordinate the activities of several funded projects, at the initial stages of study launch, data collection, data analyses, and dissemination of findings. There are also administrative tasks in the lab including assistance with grant application preparation; maintenance of websites and social media; management of lab meetings, supplies and equipment, and functions; and coordination of volunteer staff. This position will help our lab produce new knowledge that is in line with the mission of the UW as a scientific leader.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Coordinate pre-launch activities, including drafting protocols, Manual of Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and other forms as requested by funders, study documents (e.g., consent, assent, information forms, study advertisements, social media posts), and completing IRB applications.
+ Coordinate launch activities, including preparing data collection protocols, case report forms, and other forms (e.g., paper, REDCap, clinical data forms, surveys).
+ Coordinate data collection activities (e.g., scheduling data collection dates and recruitment, coordinating schedules of staff who are participants, coordinating transportation, collecting biological data like saliva, plaque, and hair).
+ Manage and analyze data and prepare results for publication.
+ Other administrative responsibilities, including preparing reports for funders, tracking volunteer activities and hours, scheduling meetings and other lab gatherings, managing supplies, managing the lab website and social media sits, and other miscellaneous activities. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
+ Bachelor’s degree, public health, social/behavioral sciences, or related discipline
+ 2-3 years of experience with public health and community-based research focusing on vulnerable populations, data management and analyses (quantitative and qualitative), social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, etc.), and preparing results for publication (peer-reviewed manuscripts). **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ The ability to lift 50 pounds and travel to study sites (away from Seattle) for short- and long-term study assignments with spartan accommodations. **Application Process:** The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
