Posting Number NONAC3517 Job Title Research Coordinator Position Title Research Coordinator Position Type Non-Faculty Number of vacancies 1 Salary Department Micro/Biochem/Immun (MBI) Position Summary The Department of Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Immunology at Morehouse School of Medicine is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Coordinator to join the laboratory of Dr. Erica L. Johnson. Dr. Johnson’s laboratory focuses on the biology of maternal health disparities and mother-to-child transmission of viral pathogens. This is a full-time opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated research coordinator. This role is primarily responsible for subject recruitment, subject enrollment, data management and analysis, coordination and implementation of ongoing research activities, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate possesses experience and interest working in the maternal and/or pediatric health space and demonstrates a vested commitment to health equity. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a health-related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in maternal health research or clinical research. Experience with project management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Prior experience working with diverse populations and communities. Knowledge of ethical considerations and regulatory requirements in human subject’s research. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a health-related field. Job Duties

Description of Job Duty Determines effective strategies and participates in recruitment and enrollment of research participants Oversees data management for research projects. With appropriate credentialing and training may perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, or diagnostics. Provides support in the development of research plans, study design, and statistical analysis plans for research and evaluation studies. Conducts or participates in the informed consent process. Trains and provides guidance to less experienced staff. Contributing to the preparation of publications for dissemination by providing thorough literature review. Initiates and monitors IRB submissions. Monitors the progress of research activities; develops and maintains records of research activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies. Ensure that projects are executed successfully and completed within time frames to meet research objectives. Maintain a high level of accuracy for all work. Work well as team-member, participate in positive communication, and foster an environment that allows the team to work well together. Other duties as assigned. Immunization

Immunization Requirements It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
