Job Description:The University of Florida and the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases invites rising star researchers to apply for full-time, open rank, tenure or non-tenure track positions that will potentially include endowed chairs, space, and generous start-up packages. Clinical researchers as well as basic researchers are welcome to apply. Subspecialty may be assigned based on experience. The Norman Fixel Institute features a new building and campus dedicated to interdisciplinary care and to neuromodulation. The Institute has in place a fully functioning clinic that is an “all under one roof” interdisciplinary clinical-research center which focuses on Parkinson’s, movement disorders, Alzheimer’s, ALS, TBI and related diseases. The Institute campus boasts thousands of square feet which are available for research. The University of Florida is home to the McKnight Brain Institute and to a free standing Neuromedicine Hospital. Neuroscience research is consistently ranked in the top 10 in NIH Blueridge ratings. The positions will have immediate and easy collaborative access to all of the clinicians and researchers at a top 5 ranked public university. The Institute is partners with the Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases and the McKnight Brain Institute. We seek next generation leaders and the appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

Minimum Requirements:Candidates must have a M.D., D.O. M.D.-Ph.D., or Ph.D.
Preferred Qualifications:Candidates that work in one or more of the following four areas: (1) Parkinson's disease, (2) Alzheimer's disease, (3) traumatic brain injury, and (4) amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or related disorders.
Success in obtaining extramural funding is highly desired.
