Research Finance and Administration Manager

This position provides expert-level knowledge and financial oversight for clinical research to be conducted at hospital facilities, including clinical research supported by federal funding, foundation grants, and industry sponsors. The individual in this position will have the communication, organization, and analytical skills necessary to help operationalize the policies, procedures, and processes that define the manner in which clinical research is to be conducted. This individual will manage administrative and financial operations within the research department including contracting, budgeting, accounting, and research billing and compliance. This individual will work with the Research Program Director to develop and implement the strategic plan for research to ensure quality and compliance in the research program. This position must possess extensive knowledge of applicable research and financial regulations and guidelines to compliantly manage the department.

Requirements4+ years of healthcare finance experience2+ years of supervisor/managerial experience2+ years experience within clinical research

Hard SkillsManage the Research Administrative and Financial operations including Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA), internal cost analysis, sponsor budget negotiations, and compliance in the research billing processAccurate and timely processing of Clinical Trial Agreements, grants, and other contracts or agreementsResearch accounting including sponsor invoicing, budget tracking, vendor payments, and physician time sheet approval/payment for research servicesIdentify areas for improvement and develop/implement new processes, systems, and toolsLiaise with internal and external parties including clinical program leadership, Investigators, hospital administration, management, Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC), Clinical Research Nurses (CRN), departmental research support staff, contract research organizations, federal and industry sponsors, and auditors/monitorsServe as the subject matter expert for research billing complianceReview, develop, and maintain the hospital's research financial policies and proceduresJob Type
