Research Intern

Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is inviting applications for internship position in the field of quantum algorithms and applications. The position starts in the Fall term for a period of 3 months (40 hours per week) or 6 months (20 hours per week). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work either remotely or from FRA’s Santa Clara office. The successful candidate will be pursuing a graduate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields with a focus on quantum information processing and error-correcting codes. 

Job responsibilities:

Develop novel quantum algorithms to publish the work in reputed scientific journals, conferences, and/ or workshops.  Demonstrate the application of your quantum algorithms in one or more of the following fields: finance, machine learning, optimization, quantum chemistry, and quantum simulations. Collaborate internally with FRA researchers and help them by contributing to the quantum computing stack of Fujitsu. 

Essential requirements:

Pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. program in the field of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.  Strong publication record demonstrated by accepted or published research papers in high-quality conferences and/ or journals. At least two years of research experience working in quantum algorithms and applications either in NISQ algorithms, FTQC algorithms, or both.
