Research Intern - Dr. Francis
The Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a part-time research intern beginning May 2025 through August 2025. This internship will collaborate on Dr. Francis's ongoing research projects and will assist in data collection, data analyses, and results interpretation. The intern will contribute to grant writing and publications, as well as receive mentoring and training toward the goal of becoming an independent scientist. **LEARNING OBJECTIVES** Research Methodology and Statistical Analysis: • Utilize EPIC to research patient histories, physical examinations, and management plans under supervision, with a focus on plastic and reconstructive surgery. Research & Presentations: • Contribute to ongoing clinical research projects in plastic surgery in a meaningful way. • Participate in the department's grand round conferences, study meetings, and other departmental meetings. Professional Development: • Seek feedback from mentors and reflect on progress throughout the internship. • Engage and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment, foster open communication and mutual respect, ensure productive teamwork and effective cooperation. **ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS** Must hold a bachelor's or master's degree; degree must have been obtained within one year. Bachelor of Science in Biology or similar field of study preferred. Prior research experience with Dr. Francis is preferred. **POSITION INFORMATION** This position (full-time or part-time) provides a stipend between $28,000 and $36,000.02/15/2025
