Research Intern Emergency Medicine

Job Summary

Supports the department in assigned projects and duties including serving as a direct liaison between patients, family members, the healthcare team, and other support services providers. Accomplishes the duties assigned by the supervisor-preceptor as evidenced through performance appraisal form.



Essential Functions
 

Performs duties as assigned by leadership that will enhance the intern's college study. Works as a member of the departmental team to develop and implement customer support services to assist patients, families, and guests. Provides administrative coverage. Types documents, creates spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. Assists with research projects, data analysis, and/or creating various reports. Assists with TJC education preparation as required.

 

Physical Requirements
Requires walking, sitting, lifting and reaching overhead. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds at shoulder height. Must be able to push patients in wheelchairs or supplies on a rolling cart. Intact sense of sight and hearing is required. Responsible for working in a safe manner.



Education, Experience and Certifications
 

High School Diploma or GED required. Currently enrolled or at least one-year experience in a college/university as an undergraduate or graduate student in Healthcare, Hospitality, Social Sciences, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration required; concentration in Healthcare preferred. Planning, prioritizing, oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, team, and computer skills required.
