Inova Fairfax - Research Molecular Lab has a great opportunity for a Research Laboratory Technician 2 - PRN to join their team at Fairfax hospital.

The Research Laboratory Technician 2 operates systems/methodologies to produce timely and accurate data for customers, QC, and proficiency testing. Ensures and provides quality specimens for laboratory analysis and reports experimental data accurately and efficiently to customers. Demonstrates knowledge of operational and regulatory standard and maintains systems to ensure maximum up-times. Communicates to maintain team knowledge and participates in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team, and departmental development.

This is a PRN varies hours position.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs routine and special specimen collection, sample preparation and result reporting; maintains positive sample/subject identification throughout. Operates systems/methodologies to produce timely and accurate data for customers, QC, and proficiency testing. Performs required QC procedures and preventive maintenance, including corrective action and documentation, for all procedures and instrumentation. 

Qualifications:

 Experience:

One (1) year experience as a Laboratory Technologist.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology, genetics, Biotechnology or a related biomedical science. Educational training must include at least two semesters (or equivalent) of upper-level, hands-on laboratory training in the biological or chemical sciences.
