Clinical Research NurseJob Description + Assess and monitor patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician. + Implement plan of care in accordance with established standards, guidelines, protocols, and procedures based on actual and potential problems. + Responsible for all aspects of patient care specific to infusion therapy. + Maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow. + Demonstrate knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. + Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central venous access devices as well as alternate delivery systems. + Document all elements of care. + Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or mid-level provider. + Triage patient/family phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart. + Demonstrate awareness of community resources available to patients and assist with referrals if necessary. + Provide nursing coverage for the satellite offices as needed. + Follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, and any other material potentially infected with a blood-borne pathogen. + Maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities. + Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. + Maintain patient confidentiality. + Work closely with the Research Team and Research manager for infusions of study drugs along with standard procedures. + Take vital signs and perform blood draws, using EMR and Clinical Trial Module. Qualifications + Active RN License for Illinois + 2-3 years of nursing experience + 1 year of experience performing chemotherapy infusions + Clinical Research experience is a plus but not required Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Hinsdale, Illinois. Work Environment This position will primarily reside out of the Hinsdale location, with typical hours from 8 AM to 5 PM (35-40 hours a week).
