Research Nurse- Chemotherapy
Clinical Research NurseJob DescriptionAssess and monitor patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician.Implement plan of care in accordance with established standards, guidelines, protocols, and procedures based on actual and potential problems.Responsible for all aspects of patient care specific to infusion therapy.Maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow.Demonstrate knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central venous access devices as well as alternate delivery systems.Document all elements of care.Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or mid-level provider.Triage patient/family phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.Demonstrate awareness of community resources available to patients and assist with referrals if necessary.Provide nursing coverage for the satellite offices as needed.Follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, and any other material potentially infected with a blood-borne pathogen.Maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.Maintain patient confidentiality.Work closely with the Research Team and Research manager for infusions of study drugs along with standard procedures.Take vital signs and perform blood draws, using EMR and Clinical Trial Module.QualificationsActive RN License for Illinois2-3 years of nursing experience1 year of experience performing chemotherapy infusionsClinical Research experience is a plus but not requiredWork Site

This is a fully on-site position in Hinsdale, Illinois.

Work Environment

This position will primarily reside out of the Hinsdale location, with typical hours from 8 AM to 5 PM (35-40 hours a week).
