Join a nationally recognized Head & Neck Surgery team as a Research Nurse and play a vital role in advancing clinical research. Key Responsibilities
Protocol Operations
Collaborate with the Principal Investigator (PI) and study sponsor to ensure effective research protocol execution. Assess patients for protocol eligibility through personal interviews and medical record reviews. Coordinate patient recruitment, scheduling, and retention in alignment with protocol requirements. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to monitor patients participating in research protocols. Maintain accurate documentation in patient medical records and research logs. Develop protocol-specific documentation and reference tools. Assist the PI in evaluating patient response to protocol therapy and generate protocol summary reports as needed.
Protocol Auditing & Education
Prepare for and participate in external monitoring and auditing visits. Educate patients and families on treatment management and follow-up within clinical trials. Administer investigational medications in accordance with protocol guidelines. Assist in managing research-related budgets and charges for assigned protocols. Stay current on research and oncology-related updates through continuous education. Provide education to professional and ancillary staff regarding research protocols.
Research Updates
Keep up to date with advancements in research, oncology, and data management. Attend departmental research meetings and conferences. Serve as a mentor and trainer for new research personnel. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of registered nursing experience.
Licensure/Certification:
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Preferred Certifications:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), as required by the patient care area.
