\nThe pay range for this position is $37.35 (entry- level qualifications) - $57.89 (highly experienced). The specific rate will depend upon the successful candidates specific qualifications and prior experience.
\nJOB SUMMARY
\nThe Research Office Sponsor Specialist 2 position serves as a high-level help for research projects by providing guidance grant and contract services to investigators and staff. It provides help to investigators in the preparation and submission of proposals and contract negotiation. This position provides help to senior leadership and management in the development of initiatives and goals to further develop the institutions pre-award administration program. It also provides guidance to resolve complex and non-routine issues.
\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
\n\nDrives budget and contract negotiations.\nMentor staff members on contract negotiation and legal review.\nOversees and assists in the logistics of large-scale proposals including help in the final preparation, review and submission of proposals to meet sponsor deadlines.\nWork with Senior Leadership and management in the development of initiatives and goals.\nWork with legal, senior leadership and management to perform risk assessments on new research opportunities.\nProvide guidance to investigators, coordinators and administrative staff in research funding.\nMaintain continuing liaison with Post-Award Office to provide assistance as needed in resolving complex post-award issues.\nWork with investigators throughout the project period to ensure adherence to sponsor requirements and timely submission of non-contesting renewal applications, progress reports, project deliverables and final technical reports.\n\nKEY SUCCESS FACTORS
\n\nExcellent organization, written communication, social, financial management, proofreading and editing skills.\nAbility to interpret and apply policies and procedures of Baylor Scott & White Health, Baylor Scott & White Research Institute, Federal and State funders and private funders.\nProven Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office.\nDeals effectively with change.\nAccuracy and attention to detail is essential.\nAbility to establish and maintain proven and effective working relationships with colleagues and external parties.\nAbility to manage time reactive projects in order to meet deadlines.\nAbility to manager stress and pressure well.\nCRA or CPCM certification is highly preferred.\nMaster's degree highly preferred.\n\nBENEFITS
