Research Oncology Internship
Overview Internship is open to a current student that is able to work 10-13 hours per week during the summer and the internsthip may be extended past the summer based on availability of the student and this project the student wlll be focusing on. Internship is located in Peoria, IL. Starting pay for this position is $17.00/hour POSITION SUMMARY: The research Intern supports the UI Health Pancreatic Cancer Screening Initiative from UIC. The interns will work at the community outreach events in engaging communities in Peoria county to educate and obtain feedback regarding current access to early screening methods and barriers/stressors related to clinical trial participation. This position also contributes to the understanding of gaps in current outreach of OSF HealthCare to the community, understanding of areas for improvement in patient education, which may support OSF HealthCare's strategic objectives. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current student attending college or university working towards a Bachelos Deegree in Nursing or other related quantitative discipline. Other skills/knowledge: Familiarity with the community and ability to communicate with the community members at OSFs community engagement events. Distribute surveys and collect completed surveys at the events. Proficiency with technology and devices to distribute surveys electronically and collect completed surveys. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills/knowledge Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft excel and word Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
