Baylor Scott and White North Texas Region is looking for an PhD social scientist, ideally with a focus on social work, public health or health services research, to join a senior PhD social scientist in the PACER Center – Patient and Community Engaged Research Center. The Research Postdoctoral Fellow is a trainee working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career in clinical research. This position will train in clinical and translational research methodology, practices and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

\n\nPlans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced scientific research projects.\nEvaluates and examines data.\nAssists in establishing new research protocols and procedures, as requested.\nSummarizes research findings and publishes results in research journals.\n\n

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

\n\nMust be a new graduate of a PhD/doctoral program in in social work, public health, health services or a related field.\nInterest in applying for early career funding such as a career development award, pilot funding, or foundation funding.\nAdvanced research training in social work, public health, health services or a related field and Interest in patient and community-based research.\nInterest in health systems research and learning health systems science with strong analytical skills in health services research methods.\nEarly success with peer-reviewed publications.\nAbility to exercise a high degree of independence and judgment in planning, organizing, and implementing scientific research projects.\n\n
