Your role and responsibilitiesABB's Electrification business has always been at the forefront of innovative electrification and today is writing the future of safe, smart and sustainable electrification. Our R&D Engineers and Scientists develop breakthrough technologies that change the way the world works, and industries do business. We constantly push the limits of convention on our way to running the world without consuming the earth. As a Research Scientist you will contribute significantly to successful results in development of Electrification solutions for customers around the world. As a part of our research organization you will utilize your knowledge and skills to support multidisciplinary international teams in the development of new technologies for products that stay ahead of time. About ABB Electrification: https://bit.ly/2ITfAL4Your responsibilities: • Material related research with focus on electrical insulation, polymers and functional composites• Development and application of new material related technologies for ABB Electrification products including switchgears, apparatus and others • Development of sustainable solutions allowing reduction of environmental footprint of ABB products• Design and simulations of polymeric components• Monitoring of new material related technologies and support in definitions of future research activities• Cooperation with international R&D teams and universities Work model: hybrid #LI-Hybrid
Qualifications for the rolePhD or MSc degree in Material Science, Physics or related disciplineStrong experience in polymeric materialsLaboratory experience: tests, measurements and experimental worksBasic knowledge in area of electrical engineering (required to understand the ABB products specifications and design requirements)Good command of English and strong communication skillsAlthough not obligatory experience in CAD modeling (e.g. SolidWorks) and FEA analyses (e.g. ABAQUS, Moldflow) will be beneficial
