Job DescriptionGDIT’s Military Heath team is looking for a Research Scientist to support the Navel Medical Center Camp Lejeune (MNCCL) Discover a career that is challenging, impactful, and mission critical.Residing on one of the largest military installations on the east coast, the hospital serves more than 150,000 active-duty military personnel, retirees, and family members alike.The Research Scientist responsibilities include:Spearhead and develop new biomedical and TBI research endeavors through the implementation and oversight of research studies in collaboration with research professionals internally and externally. May serve as Principal Investigator for studies which match proficiency.Provide recommendations based on scientific expertise that influence extensive clinical research activities within NMCCL. Participates in the development of clinical trial design by conducting meetings with the appropriate departments and individuals to obtain feedback/direction.Provides grant/proposal editing and writing services to support the Principal Investigator(s) in developing high quality and highly competitive grant proposals for submission to federal, state, non-profit, internal, and/or private funding agencies and organizations.Mentor and guide junior staff through regular onsite meetings pertaining to the current research efforts. Suggest, lead and/or participate in activities that promote growth for departmental needs.Assist in the design of clinical initiatives by contributing to moderately complex aspects of a study, execution of IRB approval protocols, risk management, and analysis clinical data.Reviews of all pertinent documents to ensure recipient compliance with established administrative and financial policies and procedures and sound business practices, utilizes knowledge of the technical and administrative requirements of the protocol in order to recommend changes to the PI.Work is performed in ambulatory care spaces inpatient wards, and outlying clinics, all of which present some risk of exposure to infectious disease, for which gloves, masks, or gowns provided by the government entity may be required for safety reasons.Maintain collaborative team relationships with peers, colleagues and customers in order to effectively contribute to the working group’s achievement of goals and help to foster a positive work environment.Perform other appropriate tasks as required by the IRB Chair, CIDH, or DPE.WHAT YOU’LL NEED:Education: PhD, Professional neuroscience degree in Neuropsychology, Psychiatry, or related health or medical field.
