Research Scientist

Summary:
To develop and perform various physiological assessments and surgeries in preclinical models in rodents. This involves studying the current scientific literature designing and performing experiments data analysis manuscript writing grant writing communicating findings via abstracts oral presentations poster presentations and other forms of knowledge exchange attending scientific conferences and symposia scientific collaborations and training and mentoring lab members. 

Responsibilities:

To develop and perform various physiological assessments and surgeries in preclinical models in rodents perform surgical procedures and physiological assessments such as hemodynamics write manuscripts editorials and review articles write grants collaborate with other lab members across facilities on their projects be involved in all research activities conducted in the laboratory attend and present findings at scientific meetings be up-to-date on the scientific literature train lab members engage in formal training and career development courses as needed report at least weekly to principal investigator or designee meet regularly with mentor(s) and attend departmental seminars and journal club.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

Candidates should have rigorous training in working with various preclinical models.
