The Planetary Group lead by Professor Dobbs-Dixon in the Physics Department in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Research Scientist in the area of exoplanetary science. The successful candidate is expected to conduct cutting-edge independent research in exoplanetary atmospheres, focusing on theoretical and/or numerical modeling utilizing state-of-the-art observational facilities such as the James Webb and Hubble Space Telescopes. Expertise in areas such as atmospheric radiative, physical, and chemical processes; cloud formation; hydrodynamics; and multidimensional forward and retrieval modeling is essential. Candidates will be expected to collaborate with both internal and external researchers, foster new collaborations, and actively bring innovative research projects to the department. Involvement in current and future space missions, proven success in securing external research funding, and experience in managing PhD students, research assistants, and undergraduate students is required.
