Short Description

This position provides opportunity for growth and development as an independent investigator in NIH funded research and enhance professional skills in academia. Directly accountable to the Primary Investigator, the Research Scientist will conduct specific research projects related to stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) recovery. The Research Scientist will provide intellectual and technical support to research programs and initiatives.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Conducts laboratory experiments related to specific project or initiative.Gathers, summarizes, records, and interprets data obtained from research projects/initiatives.Plans subsequent work with review/approval of principal scientist/investigator.Reviews relevant literature to solve problems and contributes to manuscripts and grants.

Develops experimental and research protocols for the laboratory.

Experience Required

3-5 years of experience in research is perferred.

Experience in immunology, flow cytometry, and molecular biology is highly preferred.

Track record of scholarly publication and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Education Requirements

Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biological or related sciences required.
