Advanced career scientist who leads a well-developed and high-quality research program within a specific Advocate Aurora Research Institute (AARI) priority area(s) and directs system-wide research projects from design to dissemination. Leads or co-leads projects as Principal Investigator (PI), Co-investigator or Co-PI with other scientists, health system stakeholders and external collaborators. Sustains a program of research with successful external funding. Disseminates research findings through reports, presentations and publications and is adept in articulating findings to internal and external audiences. Develops and communicates research strategy and direction for an area of research that aligns with AARI priority areas and organizational goals. Serves as mentor to other scientists across Advocate Aurora Research Institute.
Major Responsibilities:
Directs large, ongoing program of research in area(s) aligned with AAH strengths and AARI priorities and comprised of multiple, coordinated research, demonstration and/or evaluation projects in defined area of expertise.Leads or co-leads complex system-level projects with clinicians and other scientists, within or outside AARI. Serves as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on research studies that contribute to an aligned program of research.Leads project teams to achieve study objectives, deliver results on time, and ensure the quality of research deliverables. Serves as AARI site lead for aligned projects with collaborators and funders to ensure requirements and expectations are met in a timely manner.Sustains a program of research with successful external funding. Leads and designs grant submissions to internal and external funding agencies to secure and grow external and philanthropic funding of AARI academic research and support his/her program of research.Disseminates research findings through reports, presentations at regional and national conferences, and publications in major peer-reviewed journals, and is adept in articulating findings to internal and external audiences.Contributes expert knowledge related to his/her area(s) of expertise in developing/refining the AARI academic research agenda and system-wide initiatives.Develops and communicates research strategy and direction for an area of research that aligns with AARI priority areas and organizational goals. Engaged at leadership level in AAH and AARI committees and task forces.Provides expert knowledge to research leaders and other scientists in addressing and resolving issues related to activities, budgets, and staffing for research projects.Mentors other scientists across AARI.Serves on scientific peer review groups and national policy/advisory boards.

Advocate Aurora Research Institute (AARI) is invested in building its research portfolio by recruiting a mid-career Research Scientist with a high-quality research program preferably within AARI priority areas of health equity, aging, cardiovascular disease, cancer, health services research, or neuroscience. The applicant should have a record of leading or co-leading projects as Principal Investigator (PI), Co-investigator or Co-PI with other scientists, health system stakeholders and external collaborators to further develop and sustain their program of research with successful external funding. In addition, a successful applicant will have a strong record of publications in high-quality journals as well as an emerging national reputation in their field. Candidates are expected to have strong quantitative skills and/or qualitative skills and an established background conducting research in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, biostatistics, health economics, health services research, implementation science, or equivalent.
