Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Peptide Chemist to join our dynamic team in San Diego. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional academic credentials in peptide and chemistry, as well as expertise in bioconjugation and knowledge in chemical biology.
In this role, the successful applicant will be a key member within the laboratory and make significant contributions to the advancement of Calibr's peptide drug discovery portfolio. Primarily, the candidate will be responsible for the design and synthesis of analogs intended to enhance the potency, pharmacokinetics, safety, and in vivo efficacy of potential drug candidates.
Furthermore, the candidate will enjoy ample opportunities to learn and actively participate in multidisciplinary drug discovery projects, making a meaningful impact and engaging in independent ideation to drive innovative practices. Ultimately, this role will play a crucial part in accelerating peptide drug discovery endeavors at Calibr.

Responsibilities:
Play a leadership role in our peptide drug discovery and development efforts, contributing to the advancement of long-acting peptides and peptide-protein conjugates into effective clinical candidates. Participates in a multidisciplinary team committed to the expeditious identification of development compounds and advance discovery projects through critical preclinical stage gates.Key Requirements:
D and/or postdoc in chemical or biological sciences with a strong focus on peptide chemistry. 1-4 years of experience in academia or a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company. Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industry or Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience. Skilled in contemporary peptide synthesis techniques, protein bioconjugation, and the analytical characterization of peptides and proteins.Additional Preferences:
Strong understanding of peptide and protein structure and associated biophysical techniques to assess structure, stability and behavior in solution. Experience in bioconjugation, time-extension and formulation strategies for peptides and proteins. Review research papers and intellectual property literature in support of SAR of peptide drug design and/or delivery. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional team Ability to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency Self-motivated, strong work ethic, independent and results oriented.Physical Requirements:

COMPENSATION
The expected hiring range for this position is $108,000.00 to $129,600.00 commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
