We are hiring a Research Solution Data Engineer. The successful candidate will be supporting the DuPont R&D community, we are seeking a result driven data & project specialist/engineer who will deliver innovative vendor and custom solutions targeting the value of scientific information through data and process management and operations excellence for Science & Innovation (S&I) Research Solutions applications.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Work directly with IT&P and R&D scientists, engineers, external contractors, consultants, and partners needed to efficiently and effectively implement and support digital technology solutions to enable R&D innovation and objectives.Identify and deploy enhancements for existing digital solutions in ongoing basis and manage the migration to new/better digital solutions.Develop, implement, and support digital applications for scientific experiment documentation and associated databases (e.g., Electronic Lab Notebook)Information gathering and data curation to generate Dashboards to facilitate key performance indicators and application consumption insights.Ensure digital applications meet security requirements for information storage, access control, and distinct business security needs. Conform to security standards and develop automation for end user pattern visualization tools and privilege access reporting. Collaborate in the troubleshooting and support of Windows and Linux servers, with focus on operational and security discipline.Design automated scientific pipelines to help research communities, including data transfer from legacy or remote systems to new ones (for example: SQL\\Plus, SQL Developer, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, PowerBI, Power Automate, BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot, XLinesoft PHPRunner, etc.)Build relationships with DuPont R&D Scientists, Engineers and Managers to identify and comprehend their needs to develop the long-term strategy and associated roadmaps for system upgrades and enhancements to fulfill their needs (e.g., understand the lab processes, needs, and gaps to build the project roadmap, determine future upgrades, and investigate future new tools)Build strong relationships and collaborations with our external vendors and consultants.

Qualifications:

BS/MS in a STEM field, including Science (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computer Science, etc.), Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Data, etc.), Information Management, or demonstrated technical proficiency with an extensive career in LIMS or ELN deployments.At least 2 years of project management experience with responsibility defining and planning a budget and defining responsibilities for contractors.Experience in research apps: Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Document Storage and Search, Chemical Inventory, and Indexing Systems, etc.Experience with SQL and Python targeting relational databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Mariah DB, MySQL are all considered.Experience in scripting and low-code software development: Microsoft Tools (Automate, PowerBI, and Power Apps, PowerShell), BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot, Gitlab, Git, XML, JSON, Markdown, TLS/HTTPS certificates, Bash, PowerShell shell are preferred.Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js (JavaScript), C#, Git, SQL preferred.Own different code repository and issues tracking in the S&I IT organization with Gitlab is preferred.Linux tools and command line helps, cursory familiarity with SQL helps, ability to shell into Windows helps - we have experts to train you, but you need to ask for help.Project Management - Ability to drive a project to completion using Agile-lite framework, hold vendors accountable to specifications and commitments before purchase order PO is issued and before closure.Collaboration - Proficient at sharing ideas and success across the organization. The candidate will collaborate with DuPont R&D teams, system specialists, and vendors + contractors. Take into account a range of opinions, formalize project deliverables, celebrate success and recognition to the involved parties, while advocating for the team meeting milestones.Customer Focused – Understand user experience and needs, triage to improve our service, and maintain good end user relations. Communicate with respect and clarity.Self-motivated – Develop relationship with key users and managers to feedback priority objectives.Communication – Communicate technical ideas about information management to stakeholders using visual diagrams, dashboards, and data-lite arguments. Identifying and translate user needs from scientists to IT and security mandates from IT to R&D managers.
