Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist II – Cytogenetics for the department of Pathology within the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. The Research Teaching Specialist II – Cytogenetics role is to conduct specialized clinical cytogenetic testing, including but not limited to chromosome karyotyping and Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization (FISH).

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assist the laboratory with maintaining laboratory, accessioning and technical responsibilities. Carry out various technical and clinical operations relating to the activities of the laboratory. Assist in the establishment of performance standards, proficiency testing, quality control and procedures associated to the maintenance of the clinical laboratory licenses. Perform various assays independently with responsibilities for accurate methodology and proper instrumentation usage. Assist with the instructing and training of students in various techniques and procedures specifically related to Clinical Testing protocols. Performs other related duties as assigned.
