Posting Summary Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist III for the department of Pathology. The purpose of the Research Teaching Specialist III position is to, under direction of the Director and Laboratory Supervisor, conduct specialized clinical cytogenetic testing, including but not limited to chromosome karyotyping and Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization (FISH).

Routine Procedures will include but not limited to: reagent preparation, performing Tissue culture procedures, harvesting slides, Slide making, Slide banding and karyotyping, and FISH processing, probing and scoping.

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assists the laboratory with maintaining laboratory, accessioning and technical responsibilities. Carries out various technical and clinical operations relating to the activities of the laboratory. Assists in the establishment of performance standards, proficiency testing, quality control and procedures associated to the maintenance of the clinical laboratory licenses. Performs various assays independently with responsibilities for accurate methodology and proper instrumentation usage. Assists with the instructing and training of students in various techniques and procedures specifically related to Clinical Testing protocols.
