Under the supervision of the Research Teaching Specialist I (RTS I) or Supervising Research Scientist (SRS), The primary role of the Research Teaching Specialist III (RTS III) Is to perform research activities utilizing data from the New Jersey State Cancer Registry (NJSCR). Additionally, the Research Teaching Specialist III performs work requiring application of standard research techniques and procedures.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
As assigned, carries out various technical and research operations relating to population based studies, and may assist in organizing and conducting specialized research activities for a particular research project, including subject recruitment, c ase validation; coordination of study mailing; interviewing; study database management; and IRB protocol applications, modifications, and updates. Effectively participates in research study meetings, including compilation and presentation of study progress reports to loca l and national study investigators. Compiles and presents study specific statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations. Participates in the design of study management procedures and the evaluation of existing procedures, suggesting revisions whe re necessary. May assist in the preparation of grant applications for the funding of research activities.
